Description
High quality wood veneer edge banding Wood edge banding is used to cover the exposed sides of materials such as particle board, plywood, metal or MDF. The veneer edging increases the durability of your project as well as giving it a perfect finish. Real birch wood pre-glued edge banding Our birch wood edge banding is pre-glued with a German high-quality adhesive that provides a strong, permanent bond. The glue is activated by heat and will strongly apply this high-quality veneer edging onto your shelf, furniture or DIY project. You will receive 1 roll of birch wood, iron-on veneer edging with your purchase. Easy to install plywood edge banding The only tool you need to apply this veneer edging is a regular household iron at cotton temperature. A hot air blower or edge banding machine can also be used if you have these to hand, but a regular iron will be sufficient for a great application. To apply, simply position the veneer edging on the edge of your plywood or other substrate and smooth it with a few passes of an iron or slide it through an edge-banding machine. Suitable for straight-line edges as well as contours. Bandings are impregnated with a high-speed hot-melt glue that creates a permanent, durable bond. BUY NOW and complete your furniture and cabinetry edging with this premium quality, iron-on birch wood veneer edging

I don't tend to use plywood for projects other than a base, covered with actual wood but there are times when plywood just works better in an application/project where it will be visible. Edges of plywood as you know are inconsistent and even with sanding & finishing, it still looks like plywood. This edge banding completely removes that problem and works beyond my satisfaction. I do however recommend using some kind of iron versus a heat gun. My first few attempts at applying were with a heat gun, it doesn't adhere as well and the banding can discolor. I actually used my wife's small heat iron that she uses on her vinyl after that, they are very inexpensive and the size is much more manageable versus a typical clothes iron. The iron just seems to make the adhesion that much stronger, I literally could not pull the stuff off after ironing, which wasn't the case with the heat gun. It can be bent around corners or cut to fit, but I would also recommend hitting it with 220 or higher grit sandpaper to make it look more natural, but do it while it's hot so the glue holds the sawdust as a sealer. It also stains/paints nicely. Definitely recommend it to friends, family, and fellow woodworkers looking to hide those hideous plywood edges.
